A Stylish Send-Off for the Class of 2025
On June 1, 2025, The Grand View had the pleasure of hosting Buffie’s unforgettable graduation celebration, marking the end of an incredible high school journey and the beginning of an exciting new chapter. With a creative Kentucky Derby–inspired theme, thoughtful personal touches, and a room full of family and friends ready to celebrate, the evening perfectly captured Buffie’s personality and accomplishments.
Even more impressive? The event came together in just one month of planning, proving that with the right vision and a great team, even a short timeline can lead to an incredible celebration.
A Celebration of Achievements
One of the most meaningful elements of Buffie’s graduation party was a special achievement display table that highlighted her high school journey. The table showcased memorabilia from her years in school, including awards, photos, and involvement in various activities that shaped her high school experience.
Standing proudly beside the display was a fun and bold statement about Buffie’s future an inflatable University of Alabama mascot, celebrating her next step as she prepares to continue her education there. It was the perfect way to honor where she’s been while celebrating where she’s headed next.
Kentucky Derby–Inspired Details
The Kentucky Derby theme added a playful and stylish flair to the celebration. From the décor to the food displays, the event blended classic Derby inspiration with fun graduation elements.
Guests were welcomed by vibrant red accents, celebratory décor, and personalized touches that made the space feel uniquely Buffie’s.
One of the most eye-catching areas was the photo backdrop featuring marquee letters reading “Class of 2025,” framed by a white, baby blue, and red balloon installation on either side. The display created the perfect spot for guests to capture photos and celebrate Buffie’s milestone throughout the night.
Another standout feature was a large bounce house photo area that quickly became a favorite among Buffie and her friends. The back of the bounce house featured a bold red balloon installation forming a larger than life bow along with the phrase “And She’s Off!” a playful nod to the Kentucky Derby theme. Inside, a ball pit filled with red and white balls and horse inflatables added even more fun, making it the perfect place for guests to jump in, laugh, and snap some memorable photos.
Guests were also encouraged to dress the part for the Kentucky Derby, and many arrived in festive dresses and stylish hats, bringing even more personality and excitement to the celebration.
A DIY Soda Bar Guests Loved
One of the most creative features of the party was the homemade soda bar, which quickly became a guest favorite.
The interactive drink station allowed guests to customize their own sodas by starting with a base of:
Big Red
Coke
Sprite
Dr Pepper
Diet Coke
From there, guests could add a variety of fun mix-ins, including:
flavored syrups
cherries

The soda bar added a playful, nostalgic element to the party and kept guests returning to try new combinations throughout the event.
Sweets & a Charming Chip Cart
No celebration is complete without delicious snacks, and Buffie’s party delivered with a beautiful dessert display filled with sweet treats for guests to enjoy.
Alongside the desserts was one of the cutest features of the evening a charming chip cart filled with snacks for guests to grab throughout the celebration. The whimsical design fit perfectly with the playful Derby-inspired theme and added another interactive element to the event.

How The Space Was Used
Buffie’s graduation celebration took place entirely in The Grand View ballroom, creating an open and relaxed environment that was perfect for the event’s come-and-go afternoon format. Instead of a formal seated layout, the space was designed to encourage guests to move freely throughout the room, visit with friends and family, and explore the different activity stations set up around the space.
Several round tables were arranged along one side of the ballroom to give guests a place to sit, catch up, and enjoy their food. The center of the room was intentionally left open, allowing plenty of space for guests to mingle and move between the different displays and activity areas.
Along the back wall, guests could visit the food and dessert tables, featuring grazing boards, sweet treats, and Buffie’s creative DIY soda bar. Nearby, the charming chip cart added another fun snack stop for guests throughout the afternoon.
One of the most popular areas of the event was the bounce house photo experience, positioned in an open section of the ballroom.
Near the back of the ballroom, Buffie’s achievement display table showcased highlights from her high school journey, along with memorabilia and an inflatable University of Alabama mascot celebrating her future plans.
The layout allowed guests to comfortably explore each area of the celebration while still keeping the entire event connected in one vibrant space.
