A Beautiful Henna Celebration for Raneem
On April 17, 2025, The Grand View had the honor of hosting a vibrant and meaningful henna celebration for Raneem and 200 of her closest family and friends. The evening was filled with rich tradition, stunning décor, and joyful anticipation as loved ones gathered to celebrate the bride before her wedding day.
Henna celebrations are always incredibly special events to host, and Raneem’s was no exception.
Because henna celebrations are deeply rooted in tradition and cultural customs, photography is often limited. Many celebrations become women-only gatherings where guests remove their head coverings and fully immerse themselves in the festivities. Out of respect for privacy, we typically only share photos of the décor and setup rather than the guests themselves.
Even without photos of the celebration itself, the atmosphere of the evening was unforgettable.
What Is a Henna Celebration?
For those unfamiliar with the tradition, a henna (or “mehndi”) celebration is a pre-wedding event celebrated in many Middle Eastern, North African, and South Asian cultures.
The event centers around the application of henna, a natural plant-based dye used to create intricate designs on the bride’s hands and sometimes feet. These designs symbolize joy, beauty, blessings, and protection as the bride prepares for marriage.
Henna nights are typically lively celebrations filled with:
Music and dancing
Traditional clothing and vibrant colors
Family and community gatherings
Sweet treats and shared meals
The ceremonial application of henna to the bride
In many cultures, henna nights are women-led celebrations, making them incredibly joyful and energetic evenings full of laughter, dancing, and storytelling.
Transforming The Grand View for the Celebration
For Raneem’s celebration, the ballroom was transformed into a warm and welcoming setting inspired by traditional Palestinian décor.
Rich red tones, intricate textiles, and lush floral arrangements framed the stage where the bride would sit for her henna ceremony. Handmade textiles, patterned pillows, woven baskets, olive branches, and fresh fruit displays created an atmosphere that felt both elegant and deeply rooted in heritage.
The space beautifully balanced modern elegance with cultural tradition something we love helping our clients achieve.
A Stage Designed with Meaning
One of the most striking elements of Raneem’s henna celebration was the custom stage design created by Bloom & Bliss Decor. The design beautifully reflected the bride’s personal style and cultural heritage.
As Bloom & Bliss shared about the design:
“A custom stage designed to reflect the bride's vision — inspired by her rose-filled thobe and her deep love for her Palestinian roots. We pulled in traditional elements, rich red florals, olive branches, and tatreez to create a setup that felt both personal and cultural.”
The stage featured lush red floral arches, traditional Palestinian tatreez-inspired patterns, and thoughtful touches throughout the décor that honored heritage while creating a warm, celebratory atmosphere for the evening.
From the embroidered textiles to the symbolic olive branches and vibrant fruit displays, every element contributed to a space that felt deeply meaningful for the bride and her family.
A Celebration of Culture,
Family, & Joy
Henna celebrations are some of the most energetic and heartfelt events we host. They are rooted in culture, filled with symbolism, and centered around bringing loved ones together to celebrate the bride before her wedding day.
Although photos of the guests may be limited, the energy, music, and excitement in the room are always unforgettable.
We were honored to host Raneem’s henna celebration and to help create a space where her family and friends could celebrate such an important tradition.

How The Space Was Used
For Raneem’s celebration, the family rented The Grand View’s full venue, allowing different areas of the building to serve specific purposes throughout the evening while honoring the traditions of a henna celebration.
One of the things we love about hosting cultural events is helping families create spaces that feel both comfortable and respectful of their customs. For henna celebrations in particular, flexibility in layout and privacy is incredibly important.
The Ballroom
The main celebration took place in our Grand Ballroom, where approximately 200 guests gathered for the henna ceremony, music, dancing, and dinner.
The ballroom was arranged with round guest tables surrounding the stage so everyone could easily view the bride during the henna ceremony and festivities. A custom floral stage backdrop framed the center of the room, creating a beautiful focal point for the evening.
Decor tables, fruit displays, and traditional textiles were placed throughout the space, adding vibrant color and cultural detail to the room while maintaining open pathways for dancing and movement.
Lookout (Upstairs)
Our upstairs space overlooking the ballroom served as a quiet and private area throughout the evening. During the celebration, guests used this space for prayer, allowing them to step away momentarily while still remaining close to the festivities below.
This area often becomes an important feature during cultural celebrations where guests may want a more peaceful space throughout the event.
The Grand View Lounge
Later in the evening, if male guests are attending toward the end of the celebration, The Grand View Lounge downstairs provides a comfortable holding space until the women are ready.
This room offers complete separation from the ballroom, ensuring privacy for the celebration while still giving guests a welcoming place to gather.
The Bridal Dressing Suite
Our upstairs dressing suite gave Raneem a private space to prepare before the celebration began. The suite allows brides to get ready on-site, relax with close family, and make their entrance into the celebration when the moment is right.
For events like henna nights, having a dedicated private space for the bride can make the evening feel much more relaxed and organized.
